I had the pleasure of meeting Alyssa years ago as she assisted me on a few photoshoots in Denver. She was working at a law office, but very interested in Denver portrait photography. We immediately clicked, and had a blast working together.
Natalya's Red Rocks Maternity Session
Natalya came to me because she wanted to surprise her husband with beautiful maternity photos. And surprise him we did! She even brought him to the viewing session after our shoot and he still had no idea what was going on until I started the slideshow. He kept saying, “When did you do this?” He was shocked and so touched. They couldn’t wait to hang the photos in their home.
Lea is a long-time client and first-time mom! I originally met her a few years ago when I photographed her headshots for Actasana http://www.actasana.com/, the acting studio she founded here in Denver. I was so excited when she hired me for her maternity shoot, and then just felt so honored when she asked me to come back to capture a morning at home with her adorable daughter Faith.
We chose to stay in their house because I firmly believe that these photos are the most important ones later in life. This is the home where Faith came home to and where she spent her first months, maybe years of life. They won’t live in this house forever and now they tangible, documented moments of the memories they made here.
When you hear the word “evaluation,” it probably doesn’t bring to mind a fun, playful experience. But if you had met the women from Vantage Evaluation, that’s exactly what you would have thought.
These gals make data and numbers and analytics seem easy, light, and even fun. They are so passionate about what they do: evaluating and improving the quality of their clients’ work. They think that stronger organizations with strengthen the overall community and I couldn’t agree more.
When MacKenzie first reached out to me, I heard things from her that most women say:
“I’m uncomfortable in front of the camera.”
“I don’t know what do with my hands when my photo is taken.”
“I know I need to do these, but I’m nervous about it.”
I feel like women have this idea in their head that they don’t deserve to feel beautiful or look pretty when being photographed. Like confidence is only something models should feel in front of the camera. And that’s exactly what I love to photograph women. Not because of the insecurity, but in spite of it.
Maya came to me for updated headshots as she is expanding her brand and business. It’s always so exciting to photograph people as they embark on something new. I love getting to be a small part of that journey.
Maya has been a real estate professional in Colorado for decades. And over that time, she’s learned absolutely everything anyone needs to know about buying or selling a home. She says that she provides “everything but living with you.” She loves to go the extra step for clients, providing them as seamless a transaction as possible.
I love working with models who have all different levels of experience. Younger models are so eager and willing to take instruction—they are ready to learn! But models with a few years under their belt already know their best angles, where the light is, and how to pose.
And Birdee Bow is exactly that! She knows her stuff! Birdee is a singer and model who splits her time between LA, New York, Vegas, and Denver. With all those location options, I was truly honored that she asked me to help her add to her modeling portfolio.
She’s not just the talent in front of the camera though. She put so much though into the whole shoot. She styled each outfit, did her own hair and makeup, posed herself beautifully, and had so many perfect suggestions for backdrops. It was she who had the idea to shoot at Wax Trax, a local record and CD store here in Denver.
I love it when clients know the value of a good headshot. There are so many reasons to have professional photos taken. Sometimes it has nothing to do with your job or your portfolio. Sometimes you just want to feel beautiful and pampered.
Diane found me one day after walking past my studio. She decided she wanted to have a real photo shoot with a real photographer, and I was thrilled she trusted me to do it for her!
And when we met in person, I was instantly struck by her classic beauty. It was so easy to envision her cast in an old-time drama or silent film. Along with her classic beauty, she loves vintage-inspired clothing and chose the perfect outfits to reflect that.
Hannah’s mom called me excited to find a photographer who specialized in photographing females, as well as modeling portfolios. We were a perfect match! Her daughter was traveling to the New York City and needed to amp up her portfolio ASAP. She was traveling to meet Muse Models. I was so thrilled to work with a young girl from Colorado Springs and help her on her way to becoming NYC’s next model. Throughout the photo session in our studio and Millennium Bridge, Hannah showed she had what it took to blow any modeling agency out of the water.
