Belmar Welcomes Art of Her Photography and Grey Dog Photo Studio

Belmar, Lakewood’s premier shopping, dining, hospitality and lifestyle destination, is pleased to add two new creative businesses, joining the center’s more than 80 other stores and restaurants.

Art of He, a specialty photography studio, opened in Belmar’s Block 7 Arts District on Friday, October 7 and will host a grand opening celebration with Grey Dog Photo Studi o Friday, October 21. “Belmar’s Block 7 Arts District is one of the most beloved parts of the Belmar experience and a feature that sets us apart from other shopping environments,” says Belmar General Manager Lary Herkal.

“Visitors can connect with local artists and explore their own creativity in this fun social setting. Grey Dog Photo Studio and Art of Her are wonderful additions to Lakewood’s art community.” Art of Her, located on South Saulsbury Street is home to portrait photographer Jess Kornacki who specializes in photography for women including professional head shots, boudoir photography, maternity sessions, high school photos and more. Kornacki’s work has appeared in opsugar, Latina magazine, Storyboard Wedding,  Dallas Observer and many other publications, websites and news organizations.

Grey Dog Photo Studio, located on South Saulsbury Street, specializes in pet photography capturing heartwarming and timeless photos of dogs.

Art of Her and Grey Dog Photo Studio will celebrate with a grand opening party on Friday, October 21 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. The party will have gift card giveaways, complimentary wine and snacks and is open to the public.

In addition to these new studios, Desig, a full service graphic design company specializing in identity and logo marks, print collateral and environmental/signage design, has moved to a new storefront on South Saulsbury Street, which opened on Friday, October 7.

Anam Cara Living Arts, an art gallery that recently reopened in a new Block 7 location on South Saulsbury Street is designe for visitors who are interested in attending creative classes and purchasing works of art, fine jewelry, or books. Owner arrie MaKenna is a multimedia artist known for her colorful and expressive acry paintings inspired by Colorado’s unique landscapes.

“These relocations show that Belmar’s Block 7 Arts is an integral part of our community,” said Herk. “The arts are part of what makes Belmar more than a place to shop and dine.” Belmar’s Block 7 Arts District hosts a popular monthly First Friday Art Walk on the first Friday of every month from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. The Art Walk is free to attend d boasts seven gallies where guests can meet the artists, browse current exhibits and learn about upcoming art classes.
