Ignore the product count for a second. Most people never come close to 5 products, and I say that as someone who ran a multiple six-figure business inside that limit.

The real dividing line is the affiliate program. Growth lets you recruit other people to sell your course for a commission, and Basic does not. If you want affiliates, Growth pays for itself the first time someone else makes you a sale. If you don't, the extra $70 a month is buying you automations you will probably not build in your first year.

Payment processing. Stripe or PayPal takes roughly 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. This is true on every platform, Kajabi included. It is not a Kajabi fee, but budget for it.

Tools Kajabi replaces (this one's a negative cost). When I moved to Kajabi I stopped paying separately for email marketing, a funnel builder, and course hosting. Quick context, because price only means something next to alternatives. Teachable looks cheaper until you add the email platform and funnel tool it doesn't include, plus transaction fees on lower plans. Podia is genuinely cheaper and genuinely simpler, but its automations are a fraction of Kajabi's, and launches run on automations. WordPress can be cheaper on paper and cost you the most in time.
