Oil Paintings for Sale — About This Collection
This is my own artist shop, not a mass market gallery. The work here comes directly from my studio, which means when you buy a painting you are buying from the person who made it.
I have been drawn to oil on linen for the same reasons painters have returned to it for centuries. The surface is tight and responsive. Paint sits on linen with a clarity that canvas does not always give you. Shadows stay cool and luminous. Highlights stay clean. The material rewards patience and careful observation, which is how I like to work.
My paintings focus on light. That is the common thread whether I am painting a face, a piece of fruit, a glass of water, or a flower against a dark ground. The question is always the same, where is the light coming from, what does it reveal, and what does it leave in shadow.
Portraiture and Figure Studies
A portrait changes the feeling of a room. Not because of scale but because of presence. A face, even a small one, pulls attention and holds it.
My portrait studies are small format works painted from life or from photographs I take myself. I work on linen panel because the surface supports the soft transitions that skin requires, the warm light on a cheek giving way to cooler shadow at the jaw, the edge of a nose losing itself against a background. These are not formal commission portraits. They are studies in how light falls across a person and what that reveals.
A small portrait fits beside a bed, on a narrow wall, or within a larger gallery arrangement. It does not need to dominate to work. Some of the most compelling paintings I have ever encountered were small enough to hold in one hand.
Still Life Compositions
Still lifes have a long tradition in oil painting because ordinary objects are endlessly interesting when seen through careful light. Fruit on a table, a vessel filled with water, a single flower in a round glass vase, these subjects seem modest until you sit with them long enough to see what the light is actually doing.
My still life paintings focus on that moment of careful observation. I am interested in the way light moves through glass, the way a dark background makes a pale object glow, the temperature differences between the lit side of a piece of fruit and the shadow underneath it. These are questions that oil paint is uniquely equipped to answer because of the way pigment and oil hold and reflect light even after the painting is dry.
Still lifes work in almost any room. A dark composition with a single lit object can add depth beside books or antique furniture. A lighter arrangement brightens a neutral wall. They are historically grounded and visually direct at the same time.
Oil on Linen Panel — Why It Matters
The materials are part of what you are buying. I paint on linen panel rather than stretched canvas because linen is tighter, stronger, and more archivally stable. The surface is smooth enough for fine detail but has enough tooth to hold subsequent layers of paint.
Oil paint has been the medium of serious painting since the 15th century, when Flemish painters developed techniques that allowed for layered, luminous color. The slow drying time that made those painters reach for oil is the same quality that lets me blend carefully, adjust edges, and build form across multiple sessions. You cannot rush an oil painting. That patience is part of what you see in the surface of the finished work.
Linen panel is archival quality. The paintings in this collection are made to last. Original oil paintings on linen can remain stable for decades and even centuries with proper care, which is one of the reasons they make meaningful gifts and considered purchases for people who want something lasting on their walls.

Supporting emerging artists directly means the full price of the painting goes to the person who made it rather than through gallery commission structures that typically take forty to fifty percent. This is an artist shop. The economics are transparent.
Paintings for Sale — Sizing and Price
My current collection includes small and medium format works. Small format paintings begin around $175. All are priced to reflect the materials, time, and care involved while remaining accessible for new collectors.
Small format works are well suited to intimate spaces, beside a bed, in a hallway, on a narrow wall, or grouped with other work in a gallery arrangement. They are easy to live with and easy to move if your walls change.
Medium format works have more presence. They can anchor a room without overwhelming it, and they allow for more developed compositions, stronger contrasts of light, more complex arrangements, more fully resolved portraits.
All paintings are unframed unless otherwise noted. The mockup images on each product page show the painting in a white frame for scale only. Standard frame sizes work for most pieces in this collection.
Paintings in the Home
Oil paintings work differently in different rooms and different light conditions. Direct sunlight will fade any painting over time, so hanging work in indirect natural light or under controlled interior lighting is best for long term stability.
In a bedroom, a small portrait or still life creates a sense of intimacy without formality. In a living room, a medium format work can serve as a focal point above a console or alongside a sofa. In a study or home office, a darker composition can add weight and seriousness to the space. In a hallway, a single small work at eye level turns a transitional space into somewhere worth pausing.
Choosing a painting for your home is less about matching colors to furniture and more about finding something you want to look at repeatedly. A painting you notice something new in every few weeks is a better purchase than one that coordinates perfectly on day one and disappears into the background by month three.
Caring for Original Oil Paintings
Oil on linen panel is durable when handled and displayed with basic care. Keep paintings away from direct sunlight, damp walls, kitchens, and heating or cooling vents. Hang with appropriate hardware for the weight of the panel. Dust occasionally with a soft dry brush and do not use water or household cleaners on the painted surface.
Varnish is part of the long-term care of an oil painting but should only be applied after the paint has fully cured, which typically takes six months to a year after completion. I can advise on varnishing when relevant.
Each painting comes signed on the back with title, date, and medium. Documentation is available on request.
