About the artist
I've always
wanted to
create.
Drawn to portraiture, to the way light catches the surface of things. Oil is just the latest way I've found to say what I've always been trying to say.
Light has always been the thing. The way it falls across a face, wraps around an object, turns something ordinary into something you can't stop looking at. That's what I chase.
"There's something about the way light makes a decision about what matters."
I work in oil on linen — mostly portraiture and still life, mostly small format. The intimacy of a small painting suits me. It asks the viewer to come closer.
Everything in the shop is original. One of a kind, made by hand. When it's gone, it's gone.
Medium
Oil on linen
Primarily small-format works on linen panel. Occasionally canvas for larger pieces.
Subject
Portraiture + still life
The human face and the quiet object. Both are about the same thing — light deciding what matters.
